Network outage on secondary services
Posted on Monday 26 October 2009, at 01:13 UTC
Hi,
Woa, a long time without news just happened ;)
Not so important but all secondary services (MX2, NS2, and so on) including this website were down for about a day due to a major network outage of the operator who is kindly hosting this server.
Wish them luck and a pleasant week start ;)
Network outage

Hi,
We are still damned, but this is less annoying than storage issues ;-)
Anyway, everything is up by now, please bear with us.
Main storage server replacement
Posted on Tuesday 16 June 2009, at 15:17 UTC
We are currently working on the replacement of our main storage server in the hope of fixing hardware problems (see older news).
All services are now unavailable. We do our best to make everything up as soon as possible !
Your admins
Edit: everything is up. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Main storage server oops
Posted on Monday 8 June 2009, at 22:28 UTC
Hi, apparently, we didn't manage to fix our main file server. After changing the motherboard and the memory, it worked fine for almost two weeks before hanging.
We will have to wait tomorrow morning before being able to reboot it.
Sorry about that folks.
Your admins
Edit: everything is up. As we expect another hardware failure (we are damned), we will plan a maintenance soon.
Memory upgrade on main storage server
Posted on Wednesday 27 May 2009, at 10:09 UTC
A memory upgrade is planned this afternoon (UTC) on our main file server.
All services will be interrupted for some minutes.
We should perform a file system check this night (around midnight UTC), which will also cause service interruption.
We'll keep you informed.
Your admins
Edit: done!
phpMyAdmin and phpPgAdmin upgraded
Posted on Thursday 21 May 2009, at 00:09 UTC
Hi,
So this time this is a good news, WE KID YOU NOT.
Yes, this is not a very important news, we agree, but this is quite pleasant to add something other than yet another f*cking hardware failure.
So, phpMyAdmin and phpPgAdmin were upgraded today ! We are confident that it will change your life !
Hardware replacement in progress
Posted on Friday 15 May 2009, at 10:26 UTC
Hi,
We are currently replacing the hardware failing part of our main storage server.
Stay tuned ;-)
Edit: done!
Edit: We are going to move back to the primary storage array very soon, stay tuned ;-)
Edit: done!, everything should be back online
Emergency maintenance planned
Posted on Monday 4 May 2009, at 10:19 UTC
Hi,
We finished the investigation about the hardware issue on the main storage server, but we still need to check some hardware components separately to find which is the responsible. We will shutdown almost all services from time to time during this afternoon in order to do that.
Please bear with us.
Network outage
Posted on Tuesday 28 April 2009, at 09:44 UTC
Hi,
For an unknown reason, the fiber link between the core switch and ours jumped down, a small shut/noshut fixed the problem. (Those with network knowledge will understand, for the others this is technically the same as remotely unplugging and plugging a cable).
By the way, we are still having storage issues, heavy checks on the storage arrays ended successfully. We are now a bit suspecting the storage server itself, something around memory, motherboard or CPU. Sorry about short downtimes from time to time to switch between the storage arrays, to run quick checks offline and such things.
We must be cursed :-(
Please bear with us.
